逛超市長知識

在紐約高檔Food Emporium supermarket
第一次看到Saffron就和姐兩人在超市裡尖叫
一個一般香料瓶子裡有數個小到不行的容器
每個容器裝 一點點0.4g的Saffron就要17塊

而且請注意看旁邊橘色的標價
每個Unit Price是2718.40美金
!!眼傻眼傻眼傻眼傻眼傻眼傻!!

經由aichen & 食神 Shilya 的介紹
Saffron番紅花可用來當染料&烹調
以前和尚or喇嘛的袍就是用它染色
烹調上常用在西班牙菜裡的什錦飯

今天突然失心瘋翻開的我食材字典
所以根據"大廚食材完全指南"指出:

"番紅花 (Saffron, Crocus sativus)
原產於希臘,乾燥的花蕊柱頭是全世界最昂貴的辛香之一,
芳香、辛辣且苦,可以製出亮黃色染料。
它可為湯、米飯、蛋糕及麵包上色加味,
尤其是法國馬賽的魚羹(bouillabaisse)及西班牙的什錦飯(paella)。
可買到花蕊柱頭或粉末。"

ps.難怪傳說中的馬賽魚湯那麼貴,除了魚之外還有Saffron呀

Well, most of time, it's too hard to say some words out loud.
Too shy ,or I have difficulties to face my true feelings.

Williamsburg Bridge & East River Park

為了找Saving Face裡Wil和Vivian相會的公園
四次到NYC的機會有三次是努力尋找那座公園
走遍了曼哈頓和幾個布魯克林靠近河岸的公園

最後的East River Park是充滿希望也是最後的賭注
當天雪下的白茫茫一片也罷沒想到整個公園大翻修

感謝Chef Symon推薦讓我喝到那麼好喝的milkshackes
不是老派的美國死甜奶昔,不會太甜而且很順口
上面的toasted marshmallow更又畫龍點晴的效果
難怪Michael Symon能一次能喝三杯呀!!
